Large psl ridge beam (center, top) supporting lvl roof joists. end of ridge beam supported by short post on header beam.. I'm building a 10 x 20 shed... everyone says to use trusses, but i seem to be favoring a ridge beam. to me, this would be easier to do by myself than using trusses...

I'm building a 10 x 20 shed... everyone says to use trusses, but i seem to be favoring a ridge beam. to me, this would be easier to do by myself than using trusses...

I'm putting together plans for 12'x16' shed. i'm planning on using an end supported 16' long ridge beam to avoid using rafter ties. will a 16' 2x12 be sufficient, or.
